The Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Al Khalidi Hospital is dedicated to provide the highest level of medical care for pediatric patients. The unit consists of 5 PICU beds with physicians, nurses and specialists that can assess, diagnose, and treat the patient with the best possible outcome.
The unit is newly renovated and committed to the best medical care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:1 that closely monitors breathing, heart rate, and blood pressure of the child. The PICU is equipped with complex technology that allows the most up to date treatment plans to enhance patient care. The unit also allows the medical staff to provide intensive therapies that can only be performed in the PICU such as ventilators (breathing machines) and certain medicines that can be offered only under close supervision.
