Overview:

  • Dr. Youssef Jamal Zureikat is considered one of the prominent pioneers in cardiothoracic surgery in Jordan and the Middle East, with over 35 years of experience in adult and pediatric cardiac surgery. He has held several leadership positions in the Royal Medical Services, most recently serving as Director General of the Royal Medical Services until 2025, and currently works as a Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon in the private sector.

  • Director of King Hussein Medical City (2021).
  • Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery – King Hussein Medical City / Queen Alia City (2014 – 2021).
  • Head of the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Unit – Royal Medical Services (2008 – 2012).
  • Member of the Arab and Jordanian Board Examination Committee for Cardiothoracic Surgery.
  • Extensive experience in adult cardiac surgery including:
  • Heart transplantation.
  • Bentall and Ross procedures.
  • Complex aortic surgeries (Arch Surgeries, Elephant Trunk).
  • Valve surgeries, open-heart surgery, and redo surgeries.
  • Experience in pediatric cardiac surgery including:
  • Surgery for Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS).
  • Norwood Procedure.

  • Repair of complex congenital heart defects in children.
